Somerset County Adult Education

Adult education in Somerset County is offered as a lifelong learning experience to the residents of all seven of the County's School Administrative Districts. A review of the mission statements of these various programs reveals that the role of adult education in Somerset County is to provide educational opportunity to meet the needs of all members of the community.

A quote from one of the Somerset County adult education programs seems to summarize adult education today: "In adult and community education, we have learned that the one size fits all mentality does not work in this day and age because the range of what adults need to know and be able to do has changed dramatically in recent years."

Indeed in this day and age when our businesses require a workforce with a higher level of education and more specific skill sets, the role of adult and community education will likely play an ever expanding role.
